In a recent online meeting, where the topic was wellness and what that word meant, we were asked a number of questions. One of the question was what makes you happy? Some responded that listening to particular music makes them happy. Someone else said, a cup of tea and biscuit does the trick for them. I had not prepared for this and I was surprised to hear myself say – I am happy to be where I am. Not younger or older, just at the Goldlilock’s sweet spot. Reflecting on this, it is so true! I would not want to relive my past experiences. I think I lived the best way I could in the situations I found myself in. The future is unknown and I am in no hurry to reach it either. This moment is familiar, safe healthy and harmonious.
Another of the question was, What is the difference between Happiness and Joy? Some of the responses included, ‘Being happy is passive, while Joy is energetic like Jumping with Joy’. energy of Joy is exuberance, efferesence like bubbling with joy – a more higher vibrational frequency than happiness. This got me thinking…
How easy is it to experience Joy and to maintain it? Or is a better question, does the vibration of joy exists all the time and we just need to learn to tap into it and then allow this this to be the dominant feeling in our repertoire of our thoughts through out our waking day? This way thinking indicates that we have to make a choice and we control what we think and feel.
Another question was, what are three important requirements for wellness? Sleep topped the list. Second was feeling safe, supported and loved. Third came exercise.
I think there are no definitive answers. We put value on what is lacking in our lives. In my case, I would be jumping, bubbling and smiling with joy even with a little improvement to my eye sight! And, once I’d managed this miracle I would actively encourage others to believe and make it happen for themselves. After all, I-M-Possible.
