It is fascinating to observe how one person responds so differently when in the company of different types of people. Like the odd shaped pieces of a puzzle, our personalities must morph. Depending on which shape is extending out at any given moment, we connect with a corresponding shape that fits in another person. A similar analogy would be a kaleidoscope, where different colours and pieces come together, to complete a picture within us, as we meet new people. Some bring out the better aspects of us and some not so much!
For this to happen, we must carry such a vast reservoir of differing facets. If a ‘raw nerve’ is touched, anger shows up, or grief, or tears. When something funny occurs it produces a smile or laughter. The experience is often influenced by the group dynamics. When I am interacting with a room of confident, outward focused, group, with a sense of humour, it elevates the energy of the whole setting. However, when I find myself (thankfully not too often!) talking to inward looking, ego-centric people, time slows.
However, I am beginning to understand that each connection comes into our lives to help us form new vistas. It is up to me to extend the shape, like a smile, with a lilt in my voice when I wish to create a happy experience. A frown and an abrupt tone can easily create a misunderstanding! Clearly, I need to be very alert and aware to what connections I am making and how it influences the outcomes of my life.
So beautifully put! 💖

We can only control what we ourselves think , say or do, so we have a choice of how to react in any given situation. It is interesting how we allow ourselves to be influenced
