57. Biased Filters

In any communication when we pay attention, a person’s ingrained biases can become evident. Once this is recognised, wouldn’t it become easier to understand which filters are colouring their thoughts and actions? Yet, ironically we are often unable to comprehend their motivations because we are too caught up in our own biased filters! This could be at the core of most adverse relationships, which falter at finding amicable resolutions.

Holding a bias, a point of view or prejudice … however we wish to term it, is a common human trait. When engaged in solution-based team work, the differing opinions often allow for a result that is far superior, as seen in so many new ideas and inventions currently in use. However, there are many failures that are also brought on through entrenched strong biases, held by groups who want to keep us in the dark ages. So, where are we choosing to give our attention and energy to?

When our bias is tilted towards the potential of a peaceful and tranquil life and this becomes our filter to view everything through, we magnetise it into reality. Once this choice is held by a critical mass, we then energise it into the physical realm. This is science, not fiction. Our focussed attention has to be on how we imagine our future to be, not on any current unease. Isn’t it worth our continual effort to drop all the fear and give birth to a better world?
