74. Stepping Aside

It is interesting to observe, that the simple act of sighing reveals innumerable emotions dependent on the situation. However, at the root level, it denotes a ‘letting go’ of the built-up pressure and tension that we each tend to hold within us. Unlike the loud whistle being released by a pressure cooker, our sigh usually doesn’t garner much notice! But, could this release of breath signal our readiness to surrender our control, ’step aside’ and allow a wiser guidance to take over?

Generally, we tend to have an inbuilt expectation of getting support from family, friends and colleagues to help us achieve our goals. This seems to work well up to a point, after which we have to learn to fly under our own steam and start to rely on our inner guidance system. Otherwise, we are wasting the opportunity in this lifetime to grow, which comes from using our own intellect and direct experiences. By treading on this path, I find that there is infinite higher support and information available to each of us. This becomes possible when we declutter our minds of petty expectations and limiting beliefs! New ways of healing are emerging in my therapy primarily when I “step aside’ and allow my higher guidance to flow through.  By not presuming the outcome, I find that it offers exciting new occurrences that I would not have known of otherwise.

Undoubtedly, our own effort and strife has to occur to create the appropriate synchronicity that allows the emergence of a new solution. This remains equally relevant in all aspects of our lives.  Consider converting a loud sigh of frustration into a gentle out breath of surrender and watch a cascade of better outcomes! Does it sound too simple? Probably because it truly is.
